石湯
とっておき情報
別所温泉は、枕草子に登場する「七久里の湯」といわれ、平安時代に慈覚大師が訪れた、歴史のある温泉です。
信州の鎌倉とも呼ばれ、国宝の安楽寺八角三重塔や国重要文化財の常楽寺石造多宝塔で有名です。また北向観音は多くの参拝者で賑わいます。
共同浴場も、戦国武将真田氏の隠し湯「石湯」、慈覚大師ゆかりの「大師湯」、木曽義仲・葵御前・北条義政が入った「大湯」と、由緒あるものばかりです。'04年には、無料の足湯「ななくり」も北向観音に上る手前の「湯かけ地蔵ミニパーク」内にオープンしました。
上田交通別所線（上田市提供）「あいそめの湯」は、「相染閣」が2008年5月に移転された温泉施設です。 田園の中を走る「丸窓電車」で人気のローカル電車、上田交通別所線の別所温泉駅から徒歩1分の場所になり、露天風呂などの施設は充実しましたが、料金も2倍以上高くなりました。
別所温泉周辺は、秋は、紅葉の名所と松茸の産地として有名です。7月には、500年も続く祭りの岳の幟、2月には常楽寺・北向観音 節分会が行われます。
