竹田扇之助記念国際糸操り人形館は、元善光寺の隣にある博物館です。300年の歴史を持ち世界的に名高い伝統人形劇の町、飯田に、1998年の人形劇フェスタに合わせて建てられました。竹田人形座を10代目として主宰され、今世紀最高の人形劇人7人の1人にも選ばれた竹田扇之助さんが、故郷に戻って館長を勤めておられます。
代表作の「ゆきんこ」など、いくつかの人形を、人形遣いの視点で間近に見られてそのカラクリに感心し、また、南アルプスの眺望や美しい庭園も見られます。

竹田扇之助記念国際糸操り人形館 凄かった！

入館するとスタッフの方が
雪ん子ステージに案内してくださいました
雪ん子のストーリーの概要をビデオで観た後
スタッフの方の実演がありましたが
これが めちゃくちゃ楽しかったです
日本は
手板を使って人形を操るのが主流なのに対し
外国では 棒状のコントローラーか多いのだそう
手板の方が 細やかな表現ができるらしい
男女で人形の骨組みも異なり
女の人形には足先がなく 足に糸が付いていません
女性らしい しなやかさを出すためなのだそう
説明を聞けば聞くほど
実際の舞台を観たくなりました
調べたところ
今年の１月に この場所にて
“初春を寿ぐ竹田人形館 ～ヒトカタ座～”が
上演されていました
どうか 来年も公演がありますように🙏🏻
舞台裏も見学できるとのことで２階に
舞台から180cmの高さのところに
幅35cmの板が３枚架けられており
操者はこの板上で人形を操るのだとか
糸の長さは３mに及ぶと聞き驚きました
また 板と板の間は人が通れる程の隙間があるので
演じている最中に落ちてしまうことはないのかと
心配になりました
貴重なお宝と技術を守ってくださっていることに
ただただ感謝しかありません
ありがとうございます

10月から始まった竹田人形館の今田人形展。期間中、何度か一人三番叟と操り体験の時間を設けさせていただきました。最後は二人三番叟、そして太夫・三味線・人形の三業解説、操り体験の公演を行います。(写真:チラシ・稽古風景)
5月3日（日・祝）午後1時30分開演です。この機会にぜひ人形に触れ操ってみてください。大型連休はぜひ長野県飯田市へ、竹田人形館へお越しください。お待ちしています。※竹田人形館入館料のみで観覧可能

🌐 English below 🌐 桜の開花が待ち遠しい時季になりました。
当館横には樹齢百年を超える見事な枝垂れ桜があります。
地元では「舞台桜」の愛称で親しまれれています。
毎年、この桜を囲んで開催される
🌸桜まつり🌸
今年の日程は
☆令和8年4月4日（土）〜5日（日）
〇4月5日（日）10：00〜14：00
当館では「竹の子会」による糸操り人形の特別公演を開催します。
その他、桜を眺めながらお抹茶を頂いたり、キッチンカーで美味しいものを食べたり、にぎやかで楽しいイベントです。
春のお出かけの予定に、🌸舞台桜🌸のお花見も加えてみてはいかがでしょうか？
因みに、本日（3月17日）の桜は・・・
蕾がピンク色になり膨らみはじめ、木全体がなんとなくピンク色に見えます。
開花までもう少し。楽しみですね！
It`s that time of year when we eagerly wait for the cherry blossoms to bloom.
Next to our museum there is a magnificent weeping cherry tree that is over a hundred years old.
It is affectionately known as "Butai Sakura" (Stage Cherry Blossom) by locals.
Every year, an event is held around these cherry blossoms.

Our museum will be hosting a special puppet show by the "Takenoko group".
You can also enjoy a matcha tea while admiring the cherry blossoms, eat delicious food from the food trucks, and participate in other lively and fun activities.
Why not add a cherry blossom viewing trip to the 🌸 “Stage Cherry Blossoms” 🌸 to your spring outing plans?
By the way, today’s (March 17th) cherry blossoms are...
making the whole tree look somewhat pink as the buds are turning pink and beginning to swell.

🌐 English below 🌐 展示作品「鶴の笛」のご紹介です。
「放浪記」の作家としても有名な林芙美子原作の作品です。
竹田人形座は1966年芸術祭の参加作品として披露しました。
名前の通り、鶴が主人公のお話です。
人形師の竹田喜之助は、鶴を制作する際北海道釧路に出向き、何度も何度も鶴の動きを観察しました。
そして、リアルな動きが表現できる、精巧で美しい鶴を完成させました。

飛び立つ鶴の姿は圧巻です。

対象的に子どもたちはデフォルメされた可愛らしい姿で登場します。

この作品は「鳥そのものが、人間にも神々にも通じるリアリティと純粋な象徴性をともどもに発揮した・・」（南江治郎）と評され、芸術祭優秀賞を受賞しました。

Introduction of the exhibited work, "The Crane`s Flute."
This work is based on a story by Hayashi Fumiko, who is also famous for being the author of "Diary of a Vagabond."
The Takeda Puppet Troupe presented their work as part of the 1966 Arts Festival.
As suggested by its name, this is a story about a crane.
When he was creating the crane puppet, the puppet maker Takeda Kinosuke, traveled to Hokkaido, and observed the movements of cranes over and over again.
And so, he made a beautiful and exquisitely crafted crane puppet which can express realistic movements.

The sight of the cranes flying is truly breathtaking.

This work was praised by Nan’e Jiro, who said, "The bird itself exhibits a reality that resonates with humans and gods, and a pure symbolism...", it also won the Excellence Award at the art festival.
